♀Marguerite Reingeaude

Marguerite Reingeaude was the mother of Pierre Lescuyer, a native of Poitou^W, in France, who settled at Montréal in New France. She was the tenth great-grandmother of Nancy Jane Blanchard (1929–2006), through her son Pierre Lescuyer.

She is known from a single record. When her son Pierre Lescuyer married Marie Juillet at Montréal on 23 July 1670, the index of the marriage act named the groom’s parents as René Lescuyer and Marguerite Reingeaude and gave his origin as Notre-Dame, Fontaine, Poitou. Neither parent is called “the late” there. Tanguay’s dictionary gives the same parents, spelling the mother’s surname Reingeaud, and places the family at “N.-D. de Fontaine, en Poitou”. No other record of the couple has been found, and when and where they died is not known.
