♂Simeon Serrette

Simeon Serrette (born 22 March 1848) was a son of Firmin Serrette and Euphemie Dupuis of West Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana, and the elder brother of Pierre Anatole Serrett (1853–1926), grandfather of Floyd Amatus Delahorne (1922–2014). He was born on 22 March 1848 and baptised Simon on 24 September 1848 at the church of St. John the Baptist at Brusly. The census of 1850 lists him at the age of two in his parents’ household on the west bank of the Mississippi, among six children. That August, the family lost two of them within four days: his sister Adelle, buried on 21 August, and his infant brother Sebastien Enos, buried on 25 August.

A Simeon Serret stood as godfather at a baptism in 1878, beside an Olive Durocher; he may be the same man, but nothing in the record says so. No later census, marriage or burial has been found for him.
