♀Anne Daudelin

Anne Daudelin (born 28 April 1667) was the daughter of Nicolas Daudelin and Anne Girard, born and baptised at Château-Richer in New France, who married René Prévost at Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pérade at the age of sixteen. She was the eighth great-grandmother of Nancy Jane Blanchard (1929–2006), through her daughter Anne Prévost. The baptismal register writes the family name Dodelain. The Fichier Origine records her mother as one of the filles du roi^W, the young women sent to the colony under royal sponsorship to marry settlers, who arrived in 1665 and married Nicolas Daudelin at Château-Richer that October. They married at Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pérade on 9 January 1684; the register gives René’s age as 32 and Anne’s as 16. Tanguay’s dictionary^W lists ten children of the couple, baptised between 1687 and 1706, the eldest at Batiscan; by its account three died in childhood. By 1705 the family was at Varennes, where their daughter Anne, written Marie Anne Prevost in the register and called of that parish, married Jean Baptiste Renaud dit Deslauriers on 26 November 1705, with René Prévost among the witnesses. The PRDH index of Québec parish registers lists the burial at Varennes in 1733 of a Marie Anne Daudelin, aged 64, with René Prévost named as her husband; the act itself has not been read.
