♂Nicolas Daudelin

Nicolas Daudelin (died 1699) was a settler of New France, the husband of Anne Girard and the father of Anne Daudelin, who was baptised at Château-Richer in 1667. He was the ninth great-grandfather of Nancy Jane Blanchard (1929–2006), through his daughter Anne Daudelin (born 1667).

Nicolas Daudelin and Anne Girard married at Château-Richer on 22 October 1665, the date and place given both by the Fichier Origine and by Tanguay’s dictionary. Nothing is known of his parents, and he has no entry of his own in the Fichier Origine, the register of emigrants from France to Québec; his origin rests on Tanguay’s dictionary alone, which calls him a native of the parish of Saint-Paul in the city of Rouen, in Normandy, and gives 1636 as his year of birth. Their daughter Anne was born and baptised at Château-Richer on 28 April 1667, entered in the register as Dodelain; she married René Prévost at Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pérade on 9 January 1684, and the marriage record names both her parents. Tanguay’s dictionary lists other children of the couple besides Anne. It also gives his burial at Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pérade on 25 August 1699. His widow died at Varennes in 1710.
