Arthur Tessier (fl. 1626) was a carpenter of the parish of Breil, in Anjou, France. He was the eleventh great-grandfather of Nancy Jane Blanchard (1929–2006), through his son Urbain Tessier dit Lavigne (1626–1689).
He is known from a single record, the baptism of his son Urbain at the church of Breil on 10 February 1626, where the priest wrote his name “Arthus Tessier”, called him a carpenter (charpentier), and described him and his wife Jeanne Mesme as “of this parish”. The godfather, also named Urbain, was likewise a carpenter, and the godparents declared that they could not sign their names. Urbain is the only child of the couple found in the records; he sailed for New France in 1648, the year his mother was buried at Château-la-Vallière, and settled at Montreal. The Breil baptism and the French-origins file compiled on the son name no parents for Arthur, and his dates of birth and death are not known.
