♂Claude Pichon

Claude Pichon was the father of Philippe Pichon, a master wood-turner of Paris, and the grandfather of Marie Pichon, who settled at Québec in New France. He was the twelfth great-grandfather of Nancy Jane Blanchard (1929–2006), through his son Philippe Pichon.

All that is known of him comes from one clause of the Fichier Origine, a register-verified compilation of the origins of the settlers of New France: its entry for his granddaughter Marie Pichon names her paternal grandparents as Claude Pichon and Marie Perier. It gives no dates or places for them. The nearest dated fact is the marriage contract of their son Philippe Pichon and Médarde Vaquemoulin, made at Paris on 28 December 1588, which places Claude and Marie’s own lives in the sixteenth century. Nothing further is known of them.
