♀Marguerite Bérard

Marguerite Bérard was a Frenchwoman known only as the wife of Guillaume Quintard, a master tailor, and the mother of Michel Quintard, a carter and later tavern-keeper at La Rochelle. She was the tenth great-grandmother of Nancy Jane Blanchard (1929–2006), through her son Michel Quintard.

All that is known of her comes from the Fichier Origine, a register-verified compilation of immigrants’ origins, in its entry for her grandson François Quintal, who emigrated to New France in 1662. The entry records that Michel Quintard was born at Salles-lès-Aulnay, the son of Guillaume Quintard, “maître tailleur d’habits” (a master tailor), and Marguerite Bérard. No register naming Guillaume or Marguerite has been examined, and the dates of their births, marriage and deaths are not known.
