♀Andree Brun

Andree Brun (born about 1646) was an Acadian woman of Port-Royal, twice married, first to Germain Theriot and then to Emmanuel Hebert, some ten years her junior. She was the eighth great-grandmother of Floyd Amatus Delahorne (1922–2014), through her son Pierre Theriot (born about 1671).

Life

Her parents have not been identified. In the census of Port-Royal taken in 1671 she was twenty-five, the wife of the farmer Germain Theriot, with one child, Germain, aged two; the household had five cattle, two sheep and two arpents under cultivation. A compiled online tree dates her marriage to Germain to 30 January 1667.

Germain died young, by about 1680, leaving her with three Theriot children. She married again, to Emmanuel Hebert. The census of 1686 shows the blended household: Emmanuel, thirty, and Andree, forty, with their own children Guillaume, six, Marguerite, five, Jean, three, Jacques, two, and a baby of one month not yet baptised, together with her Theriot children Germain, eighteen, Pierre, fifteen, and Catherine, twelve. The farm then had four arpents, fourteen cattle, twenty-one sheep and eight hogs.
