♀Martine Bertine Duval

Martine Bertine Duval is known from one record, the marriage of her daughter Anne Masson to Robert Gallien at Québec on 8 September 1670, which names her as the bride’s mother. She was the ninth great-grandmother of Floyd Amatus Delahorne (1922–2014), through her daughter Anne Masson (born 1637).

The index of the marriage act, at Notre-Dame de Québec, names the bride’s parents as Nicolas Masson, written Lemasson in the act and dead by that date, and Martine Bertine Duval, and gives the bride’s origin as Moitiers-d’Allonne, in the diocese of Coutances^W, in France. Tanguay’s dictionary gives the same parents, writing the mother’s name Martine-Bertin Duval. Anne Masson and Robert Gallien had children baptised at Québec in 1671 and 1672 and at Beauport from 1681 to 1689, among them Pierre Galien, born in 1683. The records read so far do not show when or where Martine Bertine Duval was born or died, or whether she ever came to New France.
